The Application Paper supports supervisors’ implementation of ICP 19 (Conduct of Business) to secure fair treatment for a wide range of consumers.
The paper was finalised following public consultation in early 2025, and reinforces the importance of the Insurance Core Principles (ICPs), outlining how existing expectations around governance and conduct remain essential considerations for supervisors and insurers using AI.
The IAIS is consulting on a draft Application Paper on the supervision of artificial intelligence. Feedback is sought by 17 February.
