Public consultation on ancillary risk indicators in the Global Monitoring Exercise
The consultation closed on 03 February 2025.
The IAIS has now published its Ancillary risk indicators in the Global Monitoring Exercise document. The document introduces a set of ancillary risk indicators on credit risk, derivatives and reinsurance, to further aid the IAIS assessment of potential systemic risk in the global insurance sector within the individual insurers monitoring component of the Global Monitoring Exercise. These ancillary indicators do not impact the total quantitative scores of individual insurers but provide additional context that can inform the overall assessment of systemic risk.
Comments on the consultation document were sought between 27 November 2024 and 3 February 2025 and responses were received from a combination of external stakeholders and IAIS Members. The responses provided valuable feedback and acknowledged the IAIS efforts to develop ancillary indicators to support its assessment of potential systemic risk in the global insurance sector as part of Individual Insurer Monitoring (IIM) exercises. The comments received and the IAIS’ responses to such are available here.
A public background session webinar was held on 11 December 2024 13:00–14:30 CET to present the public consultation document on ancillary risk indicators in the Global Monitoring Exercise and answer any questions from stakeholders. Click here for details.
