The role of supervisors in addressing natural catastrophe protection gaps

Insurance supervisors can contribute to shared efforts among public and private sectors to address protection gaps, including through supporting disaster risk assessment and risk management practices. 

The IAIS has published a statement outlining its commitment to further support insurance supervisors’ actions to address protection gaps and highlights the IAIS’ focus areas for 2023.
